XJ-13
XJ-13
Also known as: XJ13, XJ Thirteen, XK Thirteen
Overview
XJ-13, also known as "XJ13" and "XK Thirteen," is a hybrid marijuana strain made by crossing Jack Herer and G13 Haze. This strain is a true Southern California clone-only variety, bred when the green thumbs at Orange County's Patient Care in Santa Ana pollinated a G-13 female with pollen from a male Jack Herer (courtesy of Paradise Seeds), then re-pollinated a cutting of the new plant with Jack Herer again to give the strain a sweeter scent and more Sativa-dominant properties. The strain won bronze for Best Sativa at the 2012 High Times' Cannabis Cup and took silver for Best Concentrate in 2014.
XJ 13 has mint-green buds that are dense, chunky and clumped together in rounded cones. The buds have an abundance of vibrant orange pistils and are caked in a frosting of white trichomes. XJ-13 displays weighty buds and frosty trichomes thanks to indica input in the gene profile. XJ-13 consistently exhibits a strong citrus aroma accented by notes of earthy pine. Fans of flavorful bud often delight in XJ-13's citrus scent and pleasantly piney taste. Despite the strain's somewhat skunky undertones, XJ-13 is said to smoke smoothly and hit quickly. The effects of XJ-13 produce unencumbered cerebral effects that are perfect for stimulating creativity and conversation. Novice consumers looking for an easy, paranoia-free experience can depend on the effects of XJ-13 as a surefire way to relieve stress and mood-related symptoms.

Growing Information
This strain is clone only, capable of being grown both indoors and out. XJ-13 tends to finish flowering right between eight and nine weeks. Many growers recommend vegetating the strain for a month and topping it at least once. Outdoors the strain is ready for harvest around mid-October. Keep the airflow up and the humidity levels below 40 percent when flowering to prevent powdery mildew. XJ-13 prefers a climate with temperatures between 68 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor: Flowering: 8–9 weeks, Yield: High, Height: Average. Outdoor: Harvest: Late October, Yield: High, Climate: Mediterranean. Optimal Temperature: 70–80°F, Optimal Humidity: 50–60%, Yield Potential: 600 gr/m². The plant reaches for the sky -- consistently growing over 6 feet tall if left untrained -- with fluffy, thin buds developing at 9-10 weeks. Advanced indoor breeders can nurture this Sativa-dominant lady toward her full potential with regular photoperiod cycles. This strain is recommended for experienced growers, due to its somewhat complex trimming needs.
