Overview
Warlock was the flagship product of Magus Genetics, with a legendary status, and won the High Times Cannabis Cup when it was introduced in 1997. It is an Afghani/Skunk hybrid, selected for its taste and very special effect. Originally created by breeders at the infamous Magus Genetics in the early 1990s as a potent cross between the insanely popular Skunk #1 X Landrace Afghani strains. The strain's origin story begins in the early 1990s when Gerrit Slot, founder of Magus Genetics, began an outdoor grow with landrace Afghanistan Indica seeds and Skunk #1 seeds. While growing, the male Afghani plants accidentally pollinated a Skunk #1 female, creating F1 hybrid seeds. After noticing the hybrids performed better than pure Skunk plants but lacked flavor, Gerrit crossed the last female Skunks with pollen from male hybrids, resulting in offspring that grew as strongly as F1 hybrids but with even better smell and taste than the original Skunk plants.
Even though the strain is Indica dominant, Warlock expresses some Sativa traits not only in terms of growth but also the effects it can produce, providing a mainly cerebral effect and recalls the high of a sativa, conducive to creation and meditation. This dank bud boasts a moderately high THC level that ranges from 14-20% on average and has a memorable aroma of earthy skunk with a hint of peppery herbs. The buds of Warlock are notable for their unique pepper-like shape, complete with thick, furry orange pistils that stand out against the backdrop of its green foliage. Short during the vegetative period, but huge heads with very few leaves during flowering, making the manicuring of Warlock easier. Warlock has received six cannabis awards and is a favorite among the marijuana community.

Flowering time for indoor cultivation is around 55-60 days with indoor yields of about 400-500 gr/m2. Outdoor plants can yield up to 600 grams per plant under the right circumstances, while indoor yields usually fall between 400 and 500 grams per square meter. While it is moderately challenging to grow, following best practices ensures high yields of potent, medically beneficial cannabis. Warlock thrives in a temperate climate, with optimal temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C), and can be grown both indoors and outdoors, but indoor cultivation allows for greater control over light, temperature, and humidity. Short during the vegetative period, but huge heads with very few leaves during flowering, making Warlock's manicuring easier as plants elongate and dress in compact heads which reach an impressive volume. When grown outside, plants are ready for harvest at the end of October or early November.
