Vanilla Kush
Vanilla Kush
Also known as: Vanilla Bean
Overview
Vanilla Kush is an indica-dominant hybrid (80% indica, 20% sativa) bred by Barney's Farm in Amsterdam from Afghani Kush and Kashmir strains, with its lineage dating back to seed collections from the 1980s, showcasing its longstanding heritage in the cannabis community. This cannabis strain won second place for best marijuana at the 2009 High Times Cannabis Cup. The strain is named for its distinctive vanilla aroma and taste, complemented by sweet lavender notes, and features light green buds with dense, medium-sized flowers covered in a frosty coating of golden and red trichomes. Vanilla Kush has a relatively short flowering time of 55-60 days indoors and can produce yields up to 600 grams per square meter, growing to a manageable height of 90-100cm. The strain is easy to cultivate, making it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced growers who grow at home.

Growing Information
Vanilla Kush is easy to cultivate and beginner-friendly, described as an easy grower with quick vegetative growth suitable for 12-12 light cycle growers. The flowering period is 55-60 days indoors. Expected yields are up to 600 grams per square meter indoors. Plants grow to a manageable height of 90-100cm (3-3'4") indoors and hardly more outdoors. The strain responds well to both high-stress and low-stress training techniques, with older branches becoming brittle so training is best done early. Vanilla Kush can thrive in both indoor and greenhouse growing operations and requires minimal upkeep. Outdoor harvest time comes in the second half of September in Mediterranean climates.
