Triple Platinum
Triple Platinum
Overview
Triple Platinum is an indica dominant hybrid (75% indica/25% sativa) strain with mixed genetic lineage depending on the cultivator. The most documented version by Firelands Scientific features genetics from Purple Punch x Platinum Candy, though other sources indicate it may be a cross between Chemdog D and Double Platinum. According to SoCal Seed Collective, their version is created through crossing Double Platinum X Chem D strains. The strain gained attention for its distinctive appearance and effects, becoming popular in various medical cannabis programs, particularly in Ohio through Firelands Scientific's cultivation.
Like its Double Platinum parent, Triple Platinum buds have a super shiny appearance due to a thick blanket of tiny crystal trichomes. These nugs are small grape-shaped olive green nugs with sparse orange hairs that poke through the layers of glittering trichomes. The buds are tiny and shaped like grapes, appearing as green pieces with a small number of orange hairs, and the Triple Platinum weed strain shines because of the high amount of trichomes. The strain's platinum-like appearance, created by the abundance of trichomes, gives it its distinctive name and visual appeal, making it stand out among other cannabis varieties.

Growing Information
Growing cannabis requires proper care, with plants reaching up to 30 inches tall in a small but lush appearance that requires periodic pruning of lower branches. Flowering time takes 8 to 9 weeks, with harvest time at ten weeks. The plant produces approximately 10-15 ounces of buds when grown outside. According to SoCal Seed Collective, Triple Platinum can be cultivated indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of approximately 67 days. The strain is considered moderately difficult to grow and requires attention to pruning due to its bushy growth pattern.
