Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream
Also known as: Tangerine Dream Auto, TD, Tnd
Overview
Tangerine Dream is a renowned cannabis strain created by Amsterdam-based seed company Barney's Farm, produced as a cross between G13, Afghani, and Neville's A5 Haze. This award-winning strain gained legendary status after winning first place in the Best Sativa category at the 2010 High Times Cannabis Cup. The strain is sativa-leaning with effects that may reduce pain and increase energy.
The flowers of this strain grow large and chunky, with a dense bud structure more typical of indica varieties. The leaves are forest green, with some phenotypes showing traces of dark purple due to anthocyanins brought out by colder temperatures. The flowers are covered in sticky white trichomes that give them a dewy appearance and account for the strain's high THC content. The strain produces an intense citrus fragrance of orange with sweet earthiness, and many describe a spicy, clove-like undertone that enhances the orange top notes. Sharing its name with an influential German progressive electronic band, Tangerine Dream is an uncommonly tasty and potent strain.

Growing Information
Tangerine Dream can be grown indoors and outdoors, though outdoor growing requires warm and humid climates with consistent sunlight. The short and bushy plants are more characteristic of indica varieties and can be cultivated indoors easily, ranging between 3 and 4 feet tall when fully grown. This strain's hardy genetics make for thick central stems and supporting branches to hold up dense buds. Flowering happens within 8 to 10 weeks when grown indoors, and flowers are ready for harvest by late October outdoors. Tangerine Dream has a fairly high yield of about 46 to 56 grams per square foot of plant. Each plant can yield up to 600g outdoors, and indoor cultivation in optimal setups like Sea of Green can see yields of up to 650g/m². The strain has good natural resistances to diseases.
