Sunshine Daydream
Sunshine Daydream
Overview
Sunshine Daydream is a slightly indica dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) created through crossing the classic Appalachia X Bubbashine strains. The strain was created by Bodhi Seeds and named after a documentary about the legendary band The Grateful Dead. This potent crossbreed between Bubbashine (Bubba Kush x Blue Moonshine) and Appalachia strains offers not just an intense euphoric sensation but also carries a promise of relief for individuals grappling with chronic conditions. The breeder describes Bubbashine as smelling of hot buttered blueberry muffins and kush, growing like a big OG covered in crystals, and having an amazing potent warm snuggly euphoric pain relieving effect, especially good for nerve pain.
Sunshine Daydream buds have long narrow grape-shaped minty green nugs with thin sparse orange hairs and a coating of frosty, golden amber crystal trichomes. The leaves are tightly packed around their stems but are fluffy on their edges, giving the flowers a ragged, spade-like appearance. Some phenotypes also show off flashes of deep blue or purple, possibly passed on from grandparent strain Blueberry, with these hues resulting from pigments called anthocyanins being stimulated by cold temperatures in the growing process. This bud has a sour tangerine citrus flavor with a lightly fruity berry exhale, and the aroma is very similar, with a sour citrusy overtone accented by spicy diesel, ripe berries and fresh earthiness.

Growing Information
This strain can be successfully cultivated indoors or outdoors, although outdoor growing requires semi-humid climates with daytime temperatures between 72 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor growing is easily accommodated, as plants have a characteristically short and bushy indica shape. Flowering time is 8-9 weeks indoors with yields of 10-12 ounces. If growing outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere, expect to harvest around late September or early October. It is known to be a pungent plant, and growers trying to keep their operations discreet should invest in odor-control measures like exhaust fans. Growers looking to bring out purple-tinged bag appeal should expose the plants to cold (but not freezing) temperatures late in the vegetative stage. The strain is neither easy nor difficult to grow and can be a suitable pick for rookie growers hoping to graduate to a slightly more challenging strain. The plant requires specific growing conditions, high heat, and fertilizer application to reach its maximum genetic potential.
