Sour Flower
Sour Flower
Overview
Sour Flower is a direct descendant of Super Silver Haze, a potent sativa-dominant hybrid that was subjected to selective inbreeding. This strain is described as a back-crossing of the two-time Cannabis Cup winner Super Silver Haze. While some sources list it as a 50/50 hybrid providing equal amounts of indica and sativa, others indicate it contains 11% THC as a sativa-dominant beast with unclear specific balance ratios. The specific balance of sativa to indica is unclear, as Sour Flower flies mostly beneath the radar and is anything but easy to find, though it's somewhat popular in California, Arizona, and Oregon.
Unlike its light and airy antecedent, Sour Flower produces dense, albeit small, sugar-coated nugs that look like they've been kissed by the morning dew and then dipped in white glitter. The buds are olive green in color and occasionally show flashes of purple throughout them, with dark brown and orange hairs twisting in and out of a thick sticky wall of trichomes. Sour Flower has a smell all its own - the olfactory equivalent of the color pink, quite reminiscent of pink Laffy Taffy. This full-bodied connoisseur strain features a tropical mélange of pineapple, coconut, and banana, with a peachy base where no one scent dominates the other in a true equal-parts blend, rounded out by a soft, floral aroma with a hint of chrysanthemum. It was bred for the remarkable high that a double-dose of Super Silver Haze was sure to produce – in other words, head stash, not commercial production.

Growing Information
Sour Flower is a plant that is easy to grow, requiring only some sunshine and lots of warmth to flourish. This strain can grow into a tall plant, so it is suggested that to maximize its growth, it should have enough space to branch out. Sour Flower grown indoors can be expected to yield an estimated 15 ounces per square meter and should take around 8 to 9 weeks to finish flowering and be ready for harvest. Sour Flower growing outdoors can be expected to finish flowering around the middle of October. Outdoors, this strain reaches a medium height of 5-8 feet and can yield an impressive 450 grams per plant. Indoors, it'll reach the same medium height and deliver around 400 grams per square meter. This strain loves a temperate, continental, sunny, or Mediterranean climate and can be grown both indoors or outdoors. Proper ventilation is key to keeping those buds in tip-top shape until harvest time.
