Somango
Somango
Also known as: Soma #5, Soma Five
Overview
Somango is an indica-dominant hybrid strain that was originally bred by Soma Seeds, a well-known seed bank based in Amsterdam. The strain traces its lineage back to three popular parent strains: Jack Herer, Super Skunk, and Big Skunk Korean, resulting in a balanced genetic composition of approximately 75% indica and 25% sativa. Previously known as Soma #5, this complex cross was later renamed Somango for its distinctive tropical mango aroma and flavor profile. The strain delivers uplifting and mentally stimulating effects despite its indica dominance, offering both physical relaxation and mental clarity. As the plant matures, the leaves shade to purple and the buds become covered in a thick layer of resin crystals that shimmer under light, while vibrant olive-green leaves intertwine with intense orange pistils, sometimes revealing hints of blue and purple hues in cooler temperatures.

Growing Information
Somango is optimal as a multiple branch plant, since its genetics encourage long side branches and height on the taller side. A sea of green method can still be undertaken, but branching and height will need to be controlled. Soma prefers to grow on soil indoors with fully organic nutrients, with flowering taking 9-10 weeks indoors and outdoor harvest expected in October. The strain is known for its resistance to common pests and diseases, reducing the need for chemical treatments and allowing for more natural cultivation. Its robustness means it can withstand certain growing mistakes, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced growers. Indoor yields can reach 16-19 ounces per square yard under optimal LED lighting, while outdoor plants can reach up to 10 feet tall and yield up to 2.2 pounds per plant in favorable climates.
