Snowcap
Snowcap
Also known as: Snow Cap, SnoCap, Sno Cap
Overview
Snowcap is a sativa-dominant hybrid developed by Grand Daddy Purp Genetics as a cross between a female Snow White (Cat Piss x Jack Herer) and a Cat Piss male grown from seed. The strain emerged in the early 2000s (circa 2002-2003) from the lush landscapes of Mendocino County, Northern California, initially as a clone-only strain. Like the yeti that roams the mountainsides, Snowcap is shrouded in mystery due to its sparsely documented genetic history, though it's commonly believed to be a hybrid of Humboldt Snow and an unknown Haze cut. The strain has gained considerable recognition for its distinctive appearance and balanced effects. The nugs are large and olive toned with a full, fluffy coating of resinous white trichomes and a bright carpeting of orange hairs, giving the buds their characteristic snow-capped appearance that inspired the name. Its candy pineapple and tropical mint flavor profile set it apart from contemporaries, offering a refreshing alternative to the earthy or skunky flavors prevalent in other strains, with commercial viability highlighted by great taste, high yield, and notable crystal formation.

Growing Information
The strain prefers to be cultivated indoors or in a greenhouse environment and is known for producing above-average yields, with flowering typically completed within 9 to 12 weeks after entering the flowering cycle when cultivated indoors. Snowcap is recommended for growers of all levels of expertise and is considered an easy strain, with a flowering time of 9 to 10 weeks and above average yields, suitable for cultivation both inside and outdoors. The plant produces a bushy structure with multiple branches and a loose nodal structure. Although yields are only average from this 75% sativa plant, the quality of buds in just 8-10 weeks of flowering makes this strain a must-try whether grown indoors, outdoors or even in a greenhouse. However, growers should be warned that the plant is susceptible to dusty mildews and some fast-growing molds. To maintain Snowcap's renowned aroma and prevent mold issues, humidity should be kept below 60%, and during the final weeks of flowering, temperatures should stay under 78 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve the monoterpenes crucial to the strain's distinctive fragrance.
