Satori is a renowned sativa-dominant cannabis strain developed by Mandala Seeds, originally introduced to the market in 2005. The strain was bred from carefully selected Nepalese landrace genetics, specifically featuring a rare and extremely potent cerebral female plant that formed the basis for further breeding. This legendary strain achieved significant recognition when it won the prestigious "High Times Strain of the Year" award in 2007, cementing its reputation among sativa connoisseurs worldwide. The name 'Satori' derives from Japanese Zen Buddhism, literally translating to understanding and referring to sudden enlightenment, which perfectly reflects the strain's mental clarity and euphoric effects. Before Satori's development, most cerebral sativas were challenging for indoor cultivation due to poor yields and excessively long flowering times exceeding 14 weeks. The flowering time ranges from 65-70 days indoors or harvest-ready in October for outdoor cultivation. Indoor yields typically reach 550-600g/m² (approximately 1.2-1.3 lbs per 10 square feet), while outdoor cultivation can produce massive yields of 850-1200g per plant (1.9-2.6 lbs per plant). The plants have a slim appearance suitable for narrow rows or Sea of Green (SOG) cultivation, and require minimal feeding when grown in quality soil with proper pot size (approximately 2-gallon pots for adult plants under 250-600W lights). For hydroponic growing, EC levels should be kept low as Mandala strains are extremely efficient in nutrient uptake due to their hybrid vigor.
