Rainbow Runtz
Rainbow Runtz
Also known as: Rainbow Runts, Runtz #69
Overview
Rainbow Runtz is a balanced hybrid strain that stems from crossing Zkittlez and Do-Si-Dos. There are multiple versions of this strain from different breeders, including Wizard Trees' cross of Runtz x RS11 and variations involving The Original Z and Gelato. Grower's Choice created their version by first breeding Rainbow Candy through crossing Zkittlez with Dos Si Dos, then backcrossing with Zkittlez, before finally crossing Rainbow Candy with Gelato 41. The strain typically displays 60% Indica and 40% Sativa genetics, though some sources report a perfect 50:50 genetic split.
Visually, Rainbow Runtz is renowned for its stunning appearance, featuring heart-shaped dark olive green nugs with deep purple undertones, vibrant red-orange hairs and a coating of chunky, white crystal trichomes. The flowers have a heavy coating of frosty trichomes that gleam in the light, with dark greens that deepen into deep hues of purple and even blue, coated with fiery orange hairs and frost like sugar. As you pull apart each sticky nugget, aromas of flowery herbs, fresh lavender and sweet fruits are released, with a flavor profile featuring sweet fruity pear overtone accented by fresh apricots, spicy lavender and deliciously damp earthiness.

Growing Information
Rainbow Runtz plants are well suited for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. They stay nice and compact during veg but have a tendency to stretch in the early flowering phase. Rainbow Runtz seems to respond well to a variety of training methods, including both low-stress and high-stress techniques. The strain typically takes 8-10 weeks to flower, with yields of 3-6 ounces per square foot indoors when grown at optimal temperatures of 70-80°F and humidity levels of 40-50%. Plants reach 80-120cm indoors and up to 220cm outdoors, with indoor yields up to 650g/m². The strain benefits from regular fertilization and seems hardy enough to handle cool temperatures, which may bring out purple hues. Growing is considered ideal for novice growers due to its forgiving nature, thriving under strong light and adapting well to various environmental conditions.
