Point Break is a rare, indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by the boutique breeder Surfr Seeds. The strain stems from a cross between Tropicana Cookies and Trophy Wife genetics, though Karma Genetics also produces a different Point Break version using Shoreline cut crossed with SFV OG Kush BX2. High Times recognized the Surfr Seeds version as a Strain of the Day during 4/20 week 2023, contributing to its growing popularity despite its limited availability.
The strain exhibits dense, heart-shaped buds with striking visual appeal. Point Break buds have oversized heart-shaped dark olive green nugs with dark purple undertones, thick dark amber hairs and a coating of tiny, frosty white crystal trichomes. This bud has a sweet and sour vanilla citrusy flavor with touches of woodiness upon exhale, with an aroma that is very sour and citrusy with punches of sharp tangerine accented by woody pine and fresh earthiness. Surfr Seeds has used Point Break to create a line of incredible genetics such as Grape Waves, Squid Brain, and Sea Legs, establishing it as an important breeding strain in modern cannabis genetics.
