Orangeade is a sativa-dominant hybrid created by Symbiotic Genetics, produced through crossing Tangie and Purple Punch F2. This modern hybrid cultivar has gained significant recognition in recreational cannabis markets across the United States, particularly in California, Oregon, and Nevada since the late 2010s. The strain placed 1st in the Clean Concentrates category at the 2021 ERRL Cup and has gained an outstanding AAAA+ rating.
The strain inherits its distinctive characteristics from its notable parent genetics. Tangie, a sativa-dominant blend of Cali Orange and Skunk #1, averages around 19% THC and is known for euphoric head-highs, while Purple Punch is a heavily indica-dominant (80:20) hybrid crossing Grandaddy Purple and Larry OG, with THC levels reaching as high as 25%. Despite minor naming ambiguity among different breeders, consumers tend to agree on the core sensory experience: a bright, effervescent citrus with sweet, creamy backing. The strain produces tall plants with long, narrow leaves thanks to its sativa heritage and displays oval-shaped nugs that are light brown and dark green, with bright orange pistils and a coating of white crystal trichomes.
