OGKZ
OGKZ
Also known as: OG Kush Zkittlez, OGKZ Strain
Overview
OGKZ is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (80% indica/20% sativa) created by Humboldt Seed Organization that crosses a 3rd generation Zkittlez from Family Seeds with OGKB (OG Kush Breath). This modern California-bred strain has quickly gained popularity for its flavorful, dessert-like aromas and high total cannabinoid content. Dense purple buds come loaded with tasty trichomes and orange pistils, featuring neon green spade-shaped nugs with dark purple undertones, vivid red hairs and a coating of frosty white crystal trichomes. The strain's development represents the 2015-2020 wave of dessert hybrids that followed Zkittlez's explosive popularity, combining the candy-sweet characteristics of Zkittlez with the dense, powerful backbone of the OG Kush family through its OGKB parent.
OGKZ exhibits above-average resin production and stunning visual appeal with above average resin production. The strain's complex genetic profile creates phenotypic variation typically falling into three recognizable lanes: candy-forward Zkittlez-leaners, balanced candy-gas hybrids, and OGKB-dominant gas-forward expressions, with balanced phenos carrying both fruit and gas with layered complexity. Historical breeding notes highlight that OGKZ was the result of deliberate selection for robustness, yield potential, and a complex terpene profile, making it a benchmark in modern cannabis genetics.

Growing Information
OGKZ has a flowering time of 60-65 days indoors with yields of 400-500 g/m² and can reach up to 600 g/m² under optimal conditions. Outdoor harvest occurs in mid-October with yields of 2000-3000 g/plant and heights of 3-4 meters. A longer vegetative growth period is recommended indoors while outdoors the strain prefers greenhouse conditions and dry, warm, temperate and Mediterranean climates. For indoor growers, maintaining temperatures between 68°F and 78°F (20°C to 25°C) with humidity levels between 40% and 50% is ideal to prevent mold while encouraging robust growth. OGKZ is described as a fairly easy to grow strain, though it benefits from training techniques. The high resin production and dense bud structure mean that supplemental training techniques like topping and low-stress training (LST) can significantly boost yields. Difficulty level is moderate to easy for most growers.
