Northern Lights Auto
Northern Lights Auto
Also known as: Auto Northern Lights, Northern Light Auto, NL Auto
Overview
Northern Lights Auto is an autoflowering version of the legendary Northern Lights strain, created by crossing the original Northern Lights with ruderalis genetics to enable automatic flowering. This indica-dominant hybrid retains the potent characteristics of its photoperiod parent while offering the convenience of automatic flowering without light cycle management. Originally developed from Afghan and Thai landrace strains in the 1970s and later perfected in the Netherlands during the 1980s, this strain has become a cornerstone of cannabis breeding. The autoflowering variant was created by incorporating ruderalis genetics, allowing cultivation throughout the year regardless of light cycles. Northern Lights Auto produces dense, resinous buds covered in trichomes with a characteristic sweet, earthy aroma featuring pine and spicy undertones. The strain is renowned for its resilience, making it suitable for both novice and experienced growers, with excellent resistance to pests, diseases, and environmental stresses.
