Mimosa
Mimosa
Also known as: Purple Mimosa, Mimosas
Overview
Mimosa is a sativa-dominant hybrid born from a cross between Purple Punch and Clementine, originally developed by Symbiotic Genetics in 2017. Awarded second place in the sativa category at the 2018 High Times Cannabis Cup in Santa Rosa, California, this strain quickly gained recognition for its unique sensory profile and balanced effects. With a 70% sativa and 30% indica genetic composition, Mimosa represents a perfect fusion of its parent strains' characteristics. The strain inherited depth in resin production and physical build from Purple Punch, while Clementine infuses it with bright, citrusy aromatic characteristics and uplifting qualities. Visually, Mimosa produces beautiful cone-shaped green buds with bright orange pistils, heavily coated with bright white trichomes that look like a delicate layer of fresh frost, with buds that are small but densely packed. The strain has become a sought-after cultivar for its distinct sensory expression and visual intrigue, establishing itself as a staple in the modern cannabis market and earning recognition as one of the premier citrus-forward strains available today.

Growing Information
Mimosa is a relatively easy strain to grow, making it a good choice for beginners. It's a moderately fast-growing plant with a flowering time of around nine weeks. Indoor yields can expect 12–14 oz/yd² after a flowering time of 9–10 weeks, while outdoor harvests can reach up to 19.5 oz/plant. Outdoor growers can expect harvest in mid-late October. The plant does well both indoors and outdoors and is known to be resistant to pests and diseases common to cannabis. It can reach heights above 80 inches indoors, so training them early by topping or pruning is essential to prevent them from becoming too tall and difficult to manage. While it's a favorite of experienced growers, it may be more difficult for beginners as it's a heavy feeder requiring a nutrient-rich medium. Optimal growing conditions include temperatures between 21–29°C during the day with nighttime temperatures around 12°C lower, and humidity levels between 50–70% during vegetative stage, reducing to 40–50% during flowering.
