The Mango cannabis strain has mysterious origins dating back to the 1960s, but the modern version was created in 1991 by crossing KC 33 with an Afghani landrace strain. This classic strain won third place in the Best Indica category at the 2002 High Times Cannabis Cup and was also listed as one of the magazine's best seeds of 2009. Mango is a hybrid created by crossing KC 33 with Afghani, though some sources classify it as indica-dominant. The plant produces extremely large buds that can reach the size of a softball or fist, with colorful foliage featuring shades of yellow, green, purple, and red. As its name suggests, Mango is known for its sweet, fruity aroma reminiscent of ripe mangoes. This strain is known as a 'creeper' that delivers gradual onset effects, meaning the psychoactive effects develop slowly over time. Despite its legendary status and influence, Mango has become increasingly rare and is considered an old-school strain that can be difficult to find these days.
