Mandarin Cookies is created by crossing Forum Cut Cookies and Mandarin Sunset and is bred by Ethos in Colorado. First grown in the United States, Mandarin Cookies is a proprietary strain first grown by Ethos Genetics. Although many online publications claim the strain to be the result of a GSC cross, this Colorado-based cannabis company claims that the strain is a cross of Ethos Cookie #12 and Mandarin Sunset. This crossbreeding resulted in 18 out of 18 plants being designated "keepers" by the growers, illustrating this cross's powerful genetics.
Mandarin Cookies presents as either a sativa dominant hybrid strain (70% sativa/30% indica) or as an indica dominant strain (55% indica / 45% sativa), depending on the specific phenotype. In line with its sativa-dominant genetics, Mandarin Cookies presents with elongated buds that look like bright green peppers. Occasionally, the buds present with deep purple hues which can make them look like an entirely different strain altogether. This bud has elongated pepper-shaped olive green nugs with thick yellow-orange hairs and a coating of tiny frosty white crystal trichomes. The strain is renowned for its sharp tangy citrus flavor with hints of rich nutty herbs upon exhale, almost like an almond cookie! and very earthy and kushy aroma with a sour tangerine overtone that turns slightly pungent as the nugs are burned.
