Kosher Kush
Kosher Kush
Also known as: Kosher OG, Jew Gold
Overview
Kosher Kush holds the unique distinction of being the first commercial cannabis strain to be blessed by a Rabbi, which is believed to bring both enlightenment and a state of blissful tranquility. This indica-dominant strain has achieved legendary status as a multiple High Times Cannabis Cup winner, taking Best Indica awards in 2010 and 2011, as well as Best Strain in 2011. Originally developed in Los Angeles as a clone-only strain, Kosher Kush is now available in seed form from DNA Genetics. While its exact genetic origins remain a mystery, most experts agree that OG Kush is likely present in its lineage.
This 80% indica and 20% sativa hybrid is renowned for producing exceptionally high THC levels, consistently testing between 22-29%. Visually, Kosher Kush displays darker green buds with thin red/orange pistils and a light coating of amber trichomes that give it a dusty appearance. The strain exhibits a rich terpene profile dominated by earthy, pine, and spicy undertones, with subtle citrus notes that create a complex and rewarding flavor experience. From a cultivation perspective, Kosher Kush is considered relatively easy to grow and highly resistant to common molds and mildews, featuring a hardy, bushy growth structure that thrives in controlled environments.

Growing Information
Kosher Kush has a flowering time of approximately 9-10 weeks (63-70 days) and produces generous yields when grown under optimal conditions. Indoor cultivation typically yields around 19.4 oz/m² (550 grams per square meter), while outdoor growing can produce approximately 22 oz (400-600 grams) per plant. This strain is considered relatively easy to grow and is highly resistant to common mildews and molds, making it suitable for both novice and experienced growers. The plant thrives in temperatures between 70-85°F during the day with cooler nighttime temperatures, and humidity levels of 50-60% during vegetative stage and 40-50% during flowering. The bushy growth structure benefits from training techniques like topping, LST (Low-Stress Training), and SCROG (Screen of Green) methods to improve light distribution and increase yields. Due to its dense bud structure, proper air circulation and humidity control are essential to prevent mold issues.
