Overview
K2 is a hybrid strain with prestigious genetics, originally bred in Amsterdam as a cross between indica landrace Hindu Kush and notoriously sticky White Widow. Its name is a reference to the second-highest mountain in the world, Chhogori, on the China-Pakistan border, and may point not only to the bud's South Asian origin, but also to the heights of euphoria that it offers. This slightly indica dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) was created through crossing the iconic White Widow X Hindu Kush strains. The K2 is White Widow's younger sister and is very famous in the Netherlands for trouble-free harvests.
K2's flowers may not be impressive in terms of size, but they stand out with a very dense, compact structure that you'd expect of a predominantly indica strain. The tightly-coiled leaves are a mossy shade of green and are shot through with rust-colored pistils. Translucent white trichomes (likely passed on from parent strain White Widow) cover the inner and outer crevices of the flowers, accounting for their psychoactivity and giving them a particularly resinous texture. The mellow flavor is accented with hints of fruit and spice, and the captivating aroma helped to make it a staple at coffee shops in Amsterdam.

K2 is mostly indica and can be cultivated indoors where plants need a flowering time of approximately 60 days (8-9 weeks). K2 loves sea of green and is a great choice for indoor growing in a limited space. When growing this strain in reduced spaces, 10-11 examples in 7L pots can yield between 350-400 g/m². Yields of 400-500 g/m² can be achieved with proper cultivation. K2 presents an easy to manage development and can be managed at will by techniques such as SCROG using topping as a pruning to produce abundant ramification. Once in flowering, this plant triples in size, which requires a bit of experience to ensure there are no issues with the plant's dimensions. For outdoor growing, this strain is strongly resistant to fresh climates and different kinds of plagues, yielding nearly 500 grams per plant once dried and ready for harvest by the start of October in the northern hemisphere. This strain is relatively easy to grow but requires some additional care to reach its full potential.
