Jack Frost
Jack Frost
Also known as: JF, Frost
Overview
Jack Frost was developed and perfected by the Californian breeder Goldenseed over five years, creating a sativa-dominant hybrid cannabis strain composed of 65% sativa and 35% indica genetics. Developed by the Californian breeder Goldenseed over a meticulous five-year period, Jack Frost strain is a cross between 3 legendary strains: White Widow, Northern Lights #5, and Jack Herer. The strain is named after the strain's heavy "frosty" coating of resin, making it look as if it's been flocked by snow, with bright orange pistils also characterize the plant.
Gained mainstream popularity in the early 2000s, Jack Frost stands out for its high resin production and abundant white trichomes. Goldenseed chose White Widow for its HEAVY trichome production, while Northern Lights was selected for its ease of cultivation, stability, and contribution of some earthy undertones. These three strains were intended to create a strain that checked all the boxes: effects, bag appeal, and ease of growth. The strain is known for being relatively easy to grow for beginners and veteran growers and resistant to most molds, mildew, pests, and diseases.

Growing Information
Indoor flowering typically takes about 8 to 9 weeks, with outdoor harvest by the end of September or early October in the Northern Hemisphere. When grown indoors, you can expect one plant to produce a yield of approximately 16 ounces (453 grams) of bud per square meter, while outdoors, a yield of about 19 ounces (548 grams) per square meter can be expected. Plants reach between 60 and 80 inches (1.5 to 2 meters) in height. A sunny, warm and dry climate is preferred with humidity between 40% to 50% and optimal temperature from 68 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 26 degrees Celsius). Jack Frost can be successfully grown indoors or outdoors, with some cultivators saying it's best to grow in soil, though hydroponics can be used if desired. The strain is considered beginner-friendly due to its disease resistance and moderate care requirements.
