Gorilla Glue #4, also known as "Original Glue," "Gorilla Glue" or "GG#4," is a slightly indica dominant hybrid strain (60% indica/40% sativa) created through crossing the infamous Chem's Sister X Sour Dubb X Chocolate Diesel strains. This potent indica-dominant hybrid is renowned for delivering heavy-handed euphoria and relaxation with every puff, originating from Nevada and bred by GG Genetics (Joesy Whales and Lone Watty). It first appeared in 2014 and won multiple awards, including first place in the Michigan and Los Angeles Cannabis Cups in 2014 and the High Times Jamaican World Cup in 2015. The strain earned its name from the sticky, glue-like resin that collects on trimming scissors, and the intense couch-lock sensation that glues users to their seats. Original Glue owes its frosty appearance and distinct effects to extensive backcrossing, with several failed attempts and numerous subpar phenotypes before the GG4 we know today emerged, ultimately being the most viable of the three phenotypes (GG1, GG2, and GG4) for commercial release.
