Dawg's Waltz
Also known as: Purple Dawg, Dawgwaltz, Dawg Waltz
Dawg's Waltz Strain Overview
Dawg's Waltz is an indica-dominant hybrid comprised of 70% indica and 30% sativa that was created in 2006 by Top Dawg Seeds in collaboration with High & Lonesome Seed Company. This strain is a cross between Purple Urkle and Tres Dawg, with breeders using a select Tres Dawg male to pollinate the classic Purple Urkle strain. The strain gained significant recognition when a grower known as "Forty" discovered a particularly potent phenotype of Dawg's Waltz, dubbed the "Poodle Nuts" cut. The strain is named after a David Grisman song of the same name.
Dawg's Waltz exhibits a striking appearance with dense leafy neon green spade-shaped nugs with rich gold undertones and a layering of thick furry fiery orange hairs. These nugs are caked with a frosty layer of thick chunky white trichomes and are sticky with sweet resin. The strain produces dense buds with large calyxes that smell of spiced grape and skunky diesel. One of the most pungent strains encountered, featuring a very complex interplay of the Urkle's grape-spice musk and the Tres Dawg's hair-curling Chem-skunk funk.

Dawg's Waltz Strain Growing Information
Dawg's Waltz plants are moderately challenging to cultivate, growing to a medium size with a substantial yield and are suitable for indoor or outdoor growth, making them an ideal selection for intermediate and experienced growers. The flowering time is 54-60 days (8-9 weeks) with plants growing rather stout and bushy, with only a small stretch during flowering, mostly fattening up rather than growing upwards. The strain produces a moderate-to-large yield of rock-hard and large-calyxed buds but also produces quite a lot of fan leaves, requiring fairly aggressive defoliation to maximize yield of lower bud sites. The plant is a fairly heavy feeder, often requiring additional Cal-Mag through early flower. Taking it on the early side of the harvest window normally results in the best flavor and a more cerebral effect, while allowing some amber trichomes to develop puts this strain squarely on the Indica side effects-wise.
