Danky Kong
Danky Kong
Also known as: Dankey Kong, Danky Kang
Overview
Danky Kong is a super rare heavily indica dominant hybrid strain (90% indica/10% sativa) created through crossing the infamous Colorado Cut of Kong with the classic Bio-Diesel strain. The award winning Colorado Kong cut has been floating around on the dispensary scene for several years prior to winning the 2015 Denver Cannabis Cup grown by Allgreens. We have always admired the calyx to leaf ratio, terpene profile, and huge "arms" of bud that develop late in flower. Introduced on a wide scale by Holy Smoke Seeds, Kong is a cross between White Russian and Motivation, a little-known strain with Sensi Star and Warlock genetics. The strain emerged during the 2020s craft cannabis movement, gaining recognition for its potent effects and distinctive diesel-sweet aroma profile.
Danky Kong produces elongated dark olive green nugs with lots of orange hairs and a coating of bright frosty white crystal trichomes. Danky Kong has frosty and fluffy buds that have dark green tones with purple and orange hairs. The strain exhibits dense, resin-glossed buds, a sweet-diesel aroma, and a body-forward experience. Many cultivators and dispensaries market this strain interchangeably with or as a local renaming of Donkey Kong, though 303 Seeds developed their own distinct version using Kong genetics crossed with Bio-Diesel. The strain is known for its moderate growing difficulty and relatively short flowering time of 59-69 days indoors.

Growing Information
Danky Kong has an average flowering time between 63 and 70 days indoors and mid-October outdoors. It is moderately difficult to grow but known to produce large yields in ideal conditions. Grow Difficulty Moderate – Some experience recommended Indoor Flowering Time: 59-69 days. But it likely produces short plants with narrow leaves thanks to its indica heritage. The strain performs well both indoors and outdoors, though outdoor cultivation may require warmer climates. Detailed cultivation journals have documented that Danky Kong grown organically exhibits a 12-15% enhancement in overall cannabinoid production compared to conventional methods. Plants develop large, resinous colas late in flower and respond well to training techniques.
