Copenhagen Kush
Copenhagen Kush
Also known as: CPH Kush, Copenhagen Kush Project, Copenhagen Kush S1, The English Cut
Overview
Copenhagen Kush is a potent indica-dominant cannabis strain that was originally developed by Zenseeds (now Copenhagen Seed Company) and has become a legendary flagship variety in Danish cannabis breeding. The strain traces its lineage to a cross between Pre-98 Pakistan Kush and the medicinal Krome White Triangle, creating what was once described as "the finest Kush available from Copenhagen." The original genetics were lost during a break-in at the seed bank, but through connections with international breeders who had preserved the genetics, the strain was successfully restored in what became known as the Copenhagen Kush Project. This restoration effort involved crossing The English Cut (Tim Berry's phenotype) with selected Copenhagen Kush varieties, ultimately recreating the award-winning strain that had earned recognition at prestigious Cannabis Cups.
The strain is characterized by its exceptional trichome production, making it particularly prized among hash makers and extract artists. Copenhagen Kush exhibits dense, resin-covered buds with thick, swollen calyxes and minimal fan leaves, creating an impressive visual display. The flowers are known for their unique dry, sandy texture when cured, and during the drying process, they exhibit a remarkable phenomenon where honey-yellow syrup oozes from freshly cut surfaces, forming concentrated resin teardrops. The leaves often turn a lustrous white color due to heavy crystal coverage, showcasing the strain's extraordinary resin production capabilities. This masterpiece indica has won multiple awards including the Master's Cup in Barcelona and continues to be celebrated for its consistency, potency, and extract-making qualities.

Growing Information
Copenhagen Kush can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors with flowering times ranging from 56-75 days depending on the phenotype. The Copenhagen Kush S1 has a shorter flowering period of 56-58 days, while the Copenhagen Kush Project takes 70-75 days from seed. Indoor yields can reach 700-800 gr/m², and outdoor plants typically grow to heights of 80-160cm. The strain is considered moderately easy to grow and performs well in various conditions, though it requires proper care for optimal resin production. The plants are known for developing towering, resin-drenched colas with exceptional trichome coverage, making them ideal for extract production. Growers should expect heavy indica characteristics with dense flower development and minimal stretching during flowering.
