Overview
Coffee Gold is a 100% pure sativa landrace strain from Seeds of Africa that originates from the Coffee Bay area of South Africa's Wild Coast, so named after the hundreds of coffee trees that grew from beans scattered by a shipwreck long ago. This boat was also reportedly transporting cannabis seeds, from which this 100% Sativa variety may have originated. For a long time this plant, mixed with tobacco, was traded as a medicinal plant by the Bomvana, Amapondo and Xhosa tribes, being highly appreciated for its therapeutic properties and considered true medicine by these tribes. These plants grow in the heart of the wild coast, on the banks of rivers that wind between idyllic cliffs towards the sparkling ocean. The strain produces large, dense buds that burst with purple colours when it reaches full maturity, and it never seems to stop flowering, budding all the way up its long stems and branches between its thin lime green leaves. As this plant does not grow very abundantly in the area, it is all the more appreciated and valued by locals for its rarity as well as its properties.

Coffee Gold is a sativa from Seeds of Africa and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors with a flowering time of approximately 98 days (14 weeks). The overall grow of Coffee Gold stretches and needs support for its branches as the buds develop, with multiple branches developing for great yield, but upward space is highly recommendable with this African Sativa. The natural habitat of this variety is a semi-tropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters, making it very resistant to heat and mould. It reaches a medium to tall size, forming long branches laden with large, dense flowers. Seeds of Africa's Coffee Gold is/was never available as feminized seeds - only regular seeds are produced.
