Cherry Pie
Cherry Pie
Also known as: Cherry Kush
Overview
Cherry Pie is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by crossing Granddaddy Purple and F1 Durban Poison. First bred in the early 2000s by Ken "PieGuy" Dumetz of Powerzzzup Genetics and Jai "Jigga" Chang, this strain helped lay the foundation for the broader Cookie Fam genetic library and has become a staple strain that gained significant popularity in the mid-2000s and spread across the United States and eventually to other parts of the world. The strain is renowned for its dense buds full of orange hairs and a touch of purple, with an aroma that smells of sweet and sour cherry pie. Cherry Pie typically displays 60-80 percent indica characteristics while maintaining some uplifting sativa qualities from its Durban Poison heritage. The strain has earned numerous accolades and won 3rd place in the Medical Sativa category at the 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup.

Growing Information
Cherry Pie is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation and is considered a moderately difficult strain to grow, requiring a warm and humid environment with consistent temperatures and humidity levels. The strain thrives in temperatures between 70-85°F and humidity levels around 50-60%. Flowering time is typically 8-9 weeks with moderate to high yields. Plants typically grow to 3-4 feet indoors and can reach up to 6 feet outdoors. Plants develop a short and bushy structure, reaching 80-120 cm tall, making Cherry Pie a great candidate for growers in small spaces or those using sea of green (SOG) setups. Indoor yields can reach up to 16 ounces per square meter, while outdoor plants can produce up to 14 ounces per plant. Outdoor harvest is ready by late October. The strain is quite resistant to common molds and pests and is known for being relatively easy to grow.
