Cherry OG
Also known as: Cherry OG Kush, OG Cherry
Cherry OG Strain Overview
Cherry OG is a balanced hybrid strain created by Emerald Triangle Seeds through the hybridization of Cherry Thai, an old Afghan strain, and Lost Coast OG. This meticulously bred 50/50 indica-sativa hybrid exhibits a robust THC potency ranging from 19-23%. The hybridization was done primarily for the purpose of increasing the yield of the Cherry Thai parent. The breeding process involved first crossing Cherry Thai with Afghani to increase density and yield, then backcrossing with the original Cherry Thai mother to bring out the heady, uplifting high, and finally crossing with Lost Coast OG to increase potency.
The buds of Cherry OG are smaller, darker, and round-shaped, appearing more or less like ripened cherries, with fiery orange pistils scattered amongst mossy light green leaves. The flowers appear dark, lush green colored and are covered by a layer of orange colored hairs. The strain is most typically recognized by its diesel aroma with traces of cherry combined with it, though while its name sets expectations of a fruity cherry aroma, this strain can sometimes express more sour and diesel-like flavors. Since making its debut on the cannabis scene in the early 2010s, Cherry OG has routinely delighted marijuana fans, offering a quick-hitting yet balanced high known for its vibrant, cherry-infused vibes that prompt a relaxing, creative state of mind.

Cherry OG Strain Growing Information
Cherry OG has a flowering period of 65-75 days indoors (approximately 9-11 weeks), and with proper care, will produce yields of approximately 14 ounces per square meter. Outdoor growers can plan for a harvest in early October and look forward to approximately 14 ounces per plant. This is an easy-to-grow strain, which makes it a good choice for beginners as well as more experienced growers. Its balanced lineage makes it adaptable to a variety of growing environments, both indoors and outside. The strain thrives in growing environments with stable temperatures of 70-85°F (21-29°C), and during the flowering period, humidity levels should be maintained at about 40-50%. For optimal results, aim for 50-60% humidity during vegetative stage, then lower to 40-50% during flowering to reduce risk of bud rot or mildew.
