Chebarkul
Chebarkul
Also known as: Siberian Ruderalis Chebarkul
Overview
Chebarkul is an authentic ruderalis landrace strain originating from the harsh regions surrounding Lake Chebarkul in the Chelyabinsk Oblast of Southern Siberia, located at 54°N latitude. This strain represents a Western Siberia landrace that exhibits daylight neutral (autoflowering) characteristics and was collected directly from source in the rural villages east of the Ural Mountains. The Ural Mountains form the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, making Chelyabinsk known as "The Gateway to Siberia." This landrace is believed to be the result of past hybridization between landraces originating from nearby Kazakhstan and the local ruderalis variety. Central Asia is considered the likely place where cannabis was domesticated for the very first time, over 14,000 years ago.
The strain exhibits remarkable hardiness and vigor, capable of thriving in some of the most inhospitable places on Earth. Plants typically reach heights of 1.5 to 4 metres and feature thin, heavily serrated leaves with small leaflets. The strain displays distinctive purple, pink, and magenta hues in approximately 25-30% of phenotypes, particularly towards the end of the flowering cycle. Villagers near Lake Chebarkul have traditionally used these semi-wild plants for making incredibly flavorful, high CBD charas (hand-rubbed hashish). The variety is extremely fast-flowering, with some growers achieving harvest in as little as 50 days from seed.

Growing Information
Chebarkul is a ruderalis strain that can be cultivated indoors, outdoors, and in greenhouse environments. Plants automatically start flowering after only 2 to 3 weeks after germination. During flowering, plants continue growing taller, reaching heights of 120 to 190 centimeters (4-6 feet). The strain flowers in July at 54°N latitude with harvest typically occurring in late August to early September. Flowering time is approximately 74 days. Indoor growers should account for the substantial height when planning space. These plants are vigorous but require very little nutrients, even less than most landrace strains, as they naturally grow in rocky soil. Caution is essential as these plants are highly sensitive to nutrient burn, requiring relatively poor soil conditions for optimal growth. The strain is well-suited for northern latitudes and adverse growing conditions. The early flowering characteristic is dominant, making it excellent for hybridization projects.
