CBD Shark is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain (80% indica/20% sativa) specifically bred to offer a balanced 1:1 ratio of THC to CBD. The strain is a cross between Shark Shock and an unnamed variety that's high in the therapeutic cannabinoid CBD, though the exact genetics remain closely guarded by breeders. This strain has an equal ratio of THC to CBD, at levels ranging from 6% to 10%, though some sources report CBD levels up to 14%. Developed by CBD Crew, this strain was created specifically for medical purposes, offering a powerfully pain-killing physical high without overwhelming psychoactive effects.
Physically, CBD Shark's trimmed flowers are small to medium in size and can have a popcorn-like appearance. The buds are characteristically indica, with a dense and compact structure. The small, tightly-curled leaves are a mossy yellowish-green and are accented by curly brown pistils. Due to decreased levels of THC, though, the flowers contain relatively few trichomes and are less sticky than your typical dank bud. CBD Shark flowers within 8 weeks when grown indoors and is ready for harvest in October when grown outdoors. CBD Shark yields 14 to 17 ounces of crystal coated buds per square meter after 8 to 9 weeks of flowering. When grown outdoors, the plant can produce up to 21 ounces of buds each. Once obtained, it can be grown indoors or out, although outdoor cultivation calls for a semi-humid climate with daytime temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Plants tend to grow tall, with some reportedly reaching heights of as much as six feet. The strain is considered relatively easy to grow and is suitable for both novice and experienced growers. Despite performing well both indoors and outdoors, it is in dry, temperate or Mediterranean climates that she thrives.
