Carnival
Carnival
Overview
Carnival is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain containing 80% sativa and 20% indica developed by Ministry of Cannabis, a breeder from Holland. The strain was created, tested and selected in Spain and is the result of crossing between a Haze mother and a sativa father. Carnival was positioned as an uplifting daytime flower designed to capture the excitement of a street festival, hence the name. The strain gained popularity in the European cannabis scene during the late 2000s and early 2010s before migrating to legal markets worldwide. Carnival produces buds that look glossy and compact with tropical greens masked by a white sheen, with leaves varying in color from dark to light green. The scents of citrus and lemon candy explode off the lanky spears created by this plant, while its smell is fresh and exquisite but quite dank, with a taste that effectively combines aloe, tart sour fruit and haze. This strain is notable for its exceptionally high potency and relatively short flowering time for a sativa-dominant variety.

Growing Information
Carnival has a flowering time of around 9 weeks (63 days) and brings good yields of 400-450 gr/m2 indoors and up to 500 gr/plant outdoors. Even though Carnival is sativa dominant, this strain is highly recommended for indoor grows as it tends to stay shorter than a typical sativa strain, reaching about 3.5 feet in height. It can also thrive outdoors but requires a warmer climate similar to the Mediterranean. It needs a little attention to perform its best and prefers a hydroponics setup where she can produce up to 450 grams per square meters. The strain is happy to be grown indoors as long as you give it a lot of water with a pH of 6. The breeder recommends giving her two full weeks of flushing before harvest to retain excellent flavor, and notes that Carnival can take high levels of fertilizer and sometimes needs an extra dose of magnesium. Growers can harvest Carnival after eight to nine weeks inside or in the first weeks of October outdoors. This is considered a good strain for beginners getting into growing.
