Bruce Banner
Bruce Banner
Also known as: Banner, OG Banner, Bruce Weed
Overview
Bruce Banner is a sativa-dominant hybrid cannabis strain created by Jason Holck of Dark Horse Genetics by crossing OG Kush and Strawberry Diesel. With sativa-dominant genes (60:40 sativa/indica ratio) that deliver a massive dose of THC: Nearly 29% in some tests, the strain was named after the comic book character Bruce Banner, the alter ego of The Incredible Hulk. Bruce Banner #3 won the Denver US Cannabis Cup and has been named the strongest strain ever tested in the High Times Cannabis Cups' history. The strain gained widespread attention in 2009 as medical marijuana began entering the mainstream.
The strain is characterized by buds that have a heavily frosted appearance due to a thick layer of resinous glands and produce dense and heavy flowers with bulging calyxes and a snow-white resin. The aroma is intense and combines sweet, citrusy overtones with underlying earthy notes and hints of strawberries, diesel, and herbal tea, with the dominant flavor being sweet, with notes of citrus and a strong, pungent smell. Bruce Banner comes in multiple phenotypes, with Bruce Banner #3 being the most popular and sought-after variant. The strain represents a perfect balance of its parent genetics, delivering both the relaxing properties of OG Kush and the euphoric, creative effects of Strawberry Diesel.

Growing Information
Bruce Banner is quite robust and forgiving, making it accessible for growers with different levels of experience, though paying attention to details can make the difference between a good harvest and an excellent one. The strain has a flowering time of 8-10 weeks when grown indoors, with some sources indicating up to 12 weeks for certain phenotypes. Indoor yields can reach around 21 ounces per square meter (up to 650g/m²), while outdoor cultivation can yield an estimated 35 ounces per plant (up to 1.5kg per plant) and is ready for harvest in early to mid-October. The strain thrives in warm, sunny climates with ideal temperatures between 70-80°F (21-27°C) during the day and slightly cooler temperatures at night. As a sativa-dominant strain, it can grow quite tall, which may require additional space and training techniques to manage height. The strong, pungent aroma can be overwhelming, especially during flowering, making odor control measures essential for indoor growers.
