Boss Hog
Boss Hog
Also known as: Boss Hogg, Bawse Hog, Pickens Mtn. Boss Hog
Overview
Boss Hog is a indica-dominant strain from The Cali Collective, a Cannabis Cup-winning group of breeders out of California. This strain is a cross of Chemdawg 91 and Pre-98 Bubba Kush, though some sources indicate it may be a cross between Chemdawg 4 and another Chem 4 backcross. The strain was developed by The Cali Connection, a breeding house known for its innovative cannabis genetics, through a focused effort to blend the best qualities of indica and sativa while maintaining an adaptable growth profile.
Boss Hog has been bred as a commercial crop, dubbed the "all-arounder" that will provide a larger yield, more trichrome covered buds, stronger smell, greater taste. The flowers are visually striking, with long dense leafy minty green nugs with sparse orange hairs and a thick frosty blanket of chunky milky white crystal trichomes. The dense and dark nuggets have been described as having an intense sour diesel scent with a flavor that tastes slightly like chemicals. Despite the harsh flavor profile, this strain has gained popularity for its well-balanced effects and high resin production, making it a favorite among both recreational users and medical patients seeking potent relief.

Growing Information
Boss Hog can be grown indoors or out in a semi-humid climate and consistent daytime temperatures around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This strain grows well in an indoor growing space, as it reaches medium heights and has strong lateral branching. The yields are large and come after 65-70 flowering days. The plant suits both for indoors and outdoors. For optimal results, the plants should be regularly topped and its fan leaves trimmed for maximum light exposure. Indoor yields can reach 500-600g per square meter, while outdoor growers can expect to harvest no less than 18 ounces of buds per plant. This strain is considered relatively easy to grow and is suitable for both novice and experienced cultivators.
