Black Runtz is a well-balanced hybrid strain that crosses two famous strains, Zkittlez and Gelato, representing an indica-dominant phenotype of classic Runtz. This strain was first created on Big Boss Farms in British Columbia, Canada, though the exact origins remain somewhat mysterious due to the low-key nature of the original breeder. The strain is genetically 55% indica dominant with roughly equal balance of sativa and indica genetics. Black Runtz's distinctive appearance sets it apart from other cannabis strains, featuring small to medium-sized buds that are dense and tightly packed, with a dark green color accentuated by deep purple hues and covered in a thick layer of frosty, sticky trichomes. Like other Runtz varieties, Black Runtz has become extremely popular among recreational and medical smokers across North America, with multiple seed banks and breeders now offering their own variations.
