Black Pearl
Black Pearl
Also known as: Black Pearl Strain, The Black Pearl Strain
Overview
Black Pearl is a boutique hybrid whose name captures two defining traits: a naturally dark, anthocyanin-rich color and a glittering, pearl-like trichome jacket. This strain has multiple genetic lineages from different breeders, with the exact genetics of this strain are unknown due to secrecy of its breeders, although many members of the cannabis community believe that it is a four-way cross between the insanely popular Blue Haze X Blue Dream X Blue Mystic X Mr. Nice being the most commonly reported genetic background. However, other versions exist, including Black Water Og x Exodus Cheese and a cross with Blackberry, Blueberry, and Skunk.
The strain emerged during the wave of purple-leaning dessert hybrids that gained traction after 2015. Market demand for visually striking, high-resin flowers pushed breeders to recombine anthocyanin-heavy parents with cookie, kush, and skunk lines. Black Pearl is characterized by light fluffy minty green popcorn shaped nugs with insanely dense centers and deep rich purple undertones. These nugs are covered in fiery orange hairs and a fine layer of crystal trichomes. The strain has gained recognition for its striking visual appeal, winning awards including the 5 Place at the The Emerald Cup 2017 in the category Mixed Light (Greenhouse), submitted by Mr. Natural Seeds. While genetic makeup varies by cut, genetic analyses and breeder notes suggest that upwards of 70%-80% of its genetic makeup comes from classic sativa strains, contributing to its uplifting and creative effects.

Growing Information
Black Pearl can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors with average growing difficulty. Most phenotypes finish flowering in 56–65 days (8–9.5 weeks) indoors, with outdoor harvest windows around late September at 37–40°N and early October at 41–45°N. Indoor yields typically range 500-600 grams per square meter when optimal conditions are met, while outdoor yield: 650-800g / per plant. Plants reach average indoor height at flip ranges 30–45 cm, finishing 60–90 cm with a 1.5x–2.0x stretch, and outdoors can grow 2 – 2.5m in height. The strain thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments, although it prefers a controlled indoor setup where temperature and humidity levels can be carefully managed. The strain is relatively resistant to pests and diseases, making it a sturdy choice for growers. Optimal growing conditions include temperatures between 22°C and 26°C (72°F and 79°F), while maintaining humidity levels around 40%-60% during flowering.
