Bhutanese
Bhutanese
Also known as: Bhutan Sativa, Bhutanese Landrace
Overview
Bhutanese is a pure sativa landrace strain originating from the mountainous regions of western Bhutan at an elevation of 2,200 meters above sea level (7,200 feet). This authentic landrace variety represents unadulterated Himalayan genetics that have evolved naturally in their native environment for centuries. The Landrace Team collected these indigenous genetics directly from local farmers in situ, ensuring the preservation of this rare and valuable genetic heritage. The strain exhibits classic tall sativa characteristics with long internodal spacing and can reach heights of up to 3 meters outdoors. Plants display remarkable hardiness and resilience, having withstood extreme weather conditions including drought, heat, high humidity, storms, and cold temperatures. The strain produces generously frosty flowers with impressive trichome coverage, often reaching 77% of the bud surface area, giving the buds a snow-capped appearance reminiscent of the Himalayan peaks from which they originate.

Growing Information
Bhutanese is a hardy and vigorous landrace sativa requiring a long flowering period of 14-16 weeks (105 days). Plants are extremely resilient and humidity/mold resistant, making them suitable for various climates. Can be grown indoors, outdoors, or in greenhouses, with outdoor cultivation producing the best results. Plants naturally grow very tall (up to 3 meters) with abundant yields. Requires careful height management indoors. Responds well to LST (low stress training) but excessive pruning can reduce yields. Flowering occurs from October-November in the northern hemisphere. Plants are multi-branched with open structure and are not prone to hermaphroditism. Recommended for experienced growers due to long flowering time and size management requirements.
