Belladonna
Belladonna
Also known as: Bella Donna
Overview
Belladonna (aka Bella Donna) is an mostly sativa from Paradise Seeds and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors. Sultry Sativa… Belladonna is one of our original old school strains. This classic plant is a multi award winner and is as popular now as when we introduced it 15 years ago thanks to a quick harvest time combined with a sativa high. Belladonna is a cross between White Widow x Belladonna (sel.). This combination enhances the resin production and potency of White Widow while preserving the cerebral stimulation and high-energy effects of Belladonna's original sativa genetics. The strain is sativa-dominant, which makes the high more energetic and cerebral than relaxing. With that said, the genetic composition of Belladonna is rather balanced, featuring 60% sativa genetics and 40% indica. These traits have made the strain a popular and well-performing one, so much so that Belladonna was an award-winner during the Highlife Feria Barcelona Cannabis Cup in 2005. Somewhat visually underwhelming, Belladonna's flowers tend to be small when trimmed and cling together in tight, popcorn-like clusters. These buds have the dense, compact structure often associated with indica-dominant varieties, with their leaves curling tightly inward. The leaves themselves are a patchwork of dark and light green and are twisted through with brown (and occasionally red) pistils. The buds, while not the largest, are dense, numerous, and feature vibrant orange pistils.

Growing Information
Indoors, Belladonna is a low-maintenance strain with a flowering time of approximately 9 weeks. Its compact structure and reduced foliage provide natural resistance to mold and fungi, making it an excellent choice for growers of all experience levels. It is particularly well-suited for Sea of Green (SOG) setups, where it produces numerous dense, resinous buds. Outdoors, Belladonna thrives in both northern and southern regions. In warm climates, it grows vigorously, reaching its full potential under the sun. Originally popularized during the 1990s outdoor growing boom in Spain, this strain remains a favorite for cultivators in Mediterranean climates. Thanks to its mold-resistant properties, Belladonna is also well-suited for temperate regions with unpredictable autumn weather. With a flowering time of 8–9 weeks indoors and mid-October outdoors, it yields up to 450 g/m² indoors and 800 g per plant outdoors. Flowering in approximately 8–9 weeks indoors or finishing by mid-October outdoors, it produces dense, trichome-rich buds with an estimated yield of 450 g per m² indoors and 800 g per plant outdoors. Once obtained, it can be grown indoors or out, although successful outdoor cultivation calls for a semi-humid climate with daytime temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
