Barbara Bud
Barbara Bud
Also known as: The Barb
Overview
Barbara Bud is the creation of British Columbia-based breeders House of the Great Gardener, developed by crossing a flavorful Shishkaberry mother from London, Ontario with their own Ghani AF male, an outstanding pure medicinal indica. She was named after well-known Canadian Broadcasting Corp radio host Barbara Budd, whose show the trimming team often listened to during long sessions. While Barbara Budd wasn't a known cannabis consumer, she was supportive of the fight for access to medical marijuana and Mat's constitutional challenge that he ultimately won. This strain is an indica-dominant hybrid (80% indica/20% sativa) that has earned several European and Canadian cannabis awards, with more than 20 international wins including multiple placements at events like Spannabis, Karma Cup, and High Times Cannabis Cup. Barbara Bud nugs have long dense dark forest green pepper-shaped buds with dark orange hairs and olive green leaves, dusted with an extremely dense layer of milky white trichomes giving them an almost snow-covered, furry appearance.

Growing Information
Barbara Bud seeds are available through several online retailers and can be cultivated indoors or outdoors, though outdoor growing requires a semi-humid, Mediterranean-like climate. Plants tend to grow short and bushy, making them easily accommodated in indoor environments. Barbara Bud flowers within 7 to 8 weeks when grown indoors and is considered beginner-friendly due to its relatively easy growing requirements. The strain is an excellent choice for novice growers, being easy to bring to harvest while producing delicious buds. It responds very well to Screen of Green (SCROG) and Low-Stress Training (LST) methods, which can increase yields by promoting growth at all bud sites. Flowering time is approximately 7 weeks with medium height, average yields, and beginner-level ease of growth.
