Banana Macaroon
Banana Macaroon
Overview
Banana Macaroon is a hybrid weed strain made from a genetic cross between Do-Si-Dos and Banana Punch, originally created from the #4 phenotype of Do-Si-Dos crossed with Banana Punch. The strain was developed by both Cresco Labs and Symbiotic Genetics, with the Tiki Madman cut producing a phenotypically tall expression with longer internodal spacing and brilliant orange hairs protruding from bright white, trichome dense calyxes. This modern cannabis cultivar emerged as part of the dessert-style genetics trend that gained popularity in North American craft markets during the late 2010s.
The buds are fluffy and airy forest green nugs with deep purple undertones, thin orange hairs and tiny, purple-tinted white crystal trichomes, creating a visually striking appearance. The trichomes are less "greasy" and more "sandy" which is a great characteristic of flower that will produce abundances of hash and resin. The strain features flavors like banana, citrus, and pine, with a sweet and nutty banana cookie flavor with hints of sour, lemony citrus and a touch of spice. The aroma takes it up a level, adding a woody pine overtone to the equation that is mellow and pleasant.

Growing Information
The Banana Macaroon strain has a swift flowering period, reaching maturity in 7 weeks, making it ideal for both novice and experienced growers. The strain offers flexibility for both indoor and outdoor cultivation, with compact and manageable growth reaching a height of 0-4 feet regardless of environment. Indoors, growers can expect a robust yield of about 400 grams per square meter, while outdoor plants produce around 100 grams each. The strain is best grown indoors but can also be cultivated outdoors. Using high-intensity discharge (HID) lights or full-spectrum LED lights can promote vigorous growth and maximize yield. Harvest period is from September to October. Optimal indoor conditions include maintaining temperatures between 70-85°F (21-29°C) and relative humidity levels around 40-50% during the flowering phase.
