Banana Hammock
Banana Hammock
Also known as: Banana Hammock R1, Banana Hammock RBX1
Overview
Banana Hammock is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (70% indica, 30% sativa) created by Ethos Genetics through crossing Grape God and Mandarin Sunset. This Colorado-bred strain has risen in popularity for its unique attributes, though it initially entered the scene with relatively modest THC levels that have evolved significantly over time. The strain originally had an average THC level of 12%, but varieties with higher potency have emerged over time and usually test above 20%, with some specimens reaching as high as 27%.
The strain is visually striking, featuring medium-sized fluffy buds with dark green foliage and fiery orange hairs throughout. The buds themselves are a study in contrast and complexity, with dark green foliage serving as a backdrop for lively orange hairs, while dark green and purple hues intertwine to create a compelling tapestry of color that hints at the strain's unique genetic lineage. This special cross results in a tropical fruit-forward flavor profile with terpenes that smell like grape and honey, and it is said to taste of grapes, vanilla, and tropical fruit.

Growing Information
Banana Hammock has moderate growing difficulty - not rocket science, but pays back every ounce of attention, making it suitable for growers with some experience. Flowering time is 8-9 weeks (60-65 days) indoors, with outdoor harvest ready in mid-October. Indoor yields range from 600-800g per m² (1.96-2.62 oz/ft²), while outdoor plants can produce over 800g (20+ oz) per plant. The strain responds well to SOG, topping (recommended around week 5), and defoliation techniques. Growers must ensure the area does not get too humid, as the plant is susceptible to fungus. Support structures like stakes or mesh are essential to handle dense, heavy buds. The strain grows well both indoors and outdoors and can be cultivated in greenhouses.
