Auto Trainwreck is a modern autoflowering adaptation of the legendary Trainwreck strain, created by crossing the classic Trainwreck with Big Skunk Auto genetics. This marriage resulted in the genetic profile of 85% sativa, 15% indica and 5% ruderalis, with THC levels around 19%. The original Trainwreck was developed in Northern California during the 1970s and represents a cross between three distinct landrace strains: Mexican Sativa, Thai Sativa, and Afghani Indica. Legend holds that the strain's name originated from a train accident near the cultivation site that disrupted transportation of the harvested plants, though growers managed to salvage some plants, leading to the creation of the Trainwreck strain.
Auto Trainwreck maintains the impressive characteristics of its photoperiod parent while offering the convenience of autoflowering genetics. The strain requires 12-13 weeks from seed to harvest, making it slightly slower than most autoflowers but well worth the extra wait. Plants remain manageable at heights of 80-130cm indoors and 130-160cm outdoors, with indoor yields reaching 450-500g/m² and outdoor plants producing up to 175g each.
