Auto Purple Gorilla
Auto Purple Gorilla
Also known as: Purple Gorilla Auto, Gorilla Purple Auto, Auto Gorilla Purple
Overview
Auto Purple Gorilla is a hybrid strain that results from crossing Purple Auto and Gorilla Glue 4 strains, though some sources indicate it may also involve Gorilla Glue #4 x Purple Punch. Developed through careful breeding in European environments, this autoflowering strain combines American genetics with European cultivation expertise. The strain has gained popularity among cannabis enthusiasts due to its impressive THC percentage, flavorful profile, and ease of cultivation. As a 50% Indica / 50% Sativa hybrid, it offers balanced characteristics from both genetic lineages.
The plant produces visually striking buds with dense, resinous buds with a stunning purple hue and rock hard buds soaked in resin and often have a crystalline sheen due to the amount of trichomes. Auto Purple Gorilla typically grows to a height under 100cm but if given enough root space and powerful enough light, it can easily grow higher. The strain features a very dominant main cola but also excellent side branching and she will get almost as wide as she is tall. With a total life span ranging from 9 to 11 weeks, it provides relatively quick cultivation cycles while maintaining high quality. Testing at 23% THC with yields that can reach up to 680g, it appeals to both commercial and hobby growers.

Growing Information
Auto Purple Gorilla is considered moderately easy to grow and hardy with a flowering time of 8-10 weeks. The strain can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions and thrives in temperatures between 70–85°F (21–29°C). Indoor yields can reach 2-3 ounces per plant (60-90g) in a basic soil grow to 10 ounces per plant (280g) in a good quality hydro setup. Plants typically stay under 100cm but if given enough root space and powerful enough light, can easily grow higher. The strain responds well to low-stress training (LST) or topping to enhance yield and structure through even canopy development and improved light penetration. Support may be needed during flowering as heavy and resin packed buds can stress branches.
