Auto Gagarin
Auto Gagarin
Also known as: Gagarin, Auto Gagarin Feminized, Gagarin Auto
Overview
Auto Gagarin is an autoflowering indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain developed by Bob Marley Seeds, named in honor of Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space. This strain was created through a complex breeding program that began in 2009, with the first phenotype brought into existence in 2010. The breeders crossed highly resinous Afghan Indica genetics with rare Jamaican and Hawaiian Sativa landraces, creating a unique combination that was then stabilized through selective breeding. The resulting strain is approximately 75% Indica and 25% Sativa, enhanced with a small percentage of Ruderalis genetics that provides its autoflowering characteristics.
Auto Gagarin is renowned for its exceptional potency, boasting THC levels that can reach up to 31%, making it one of the most potent autoflowering strains available. The strain exhibits a distinctive coffee and dark chocolate aroma, inherited from its Jamaican parentage, with earthy and sweet undertones. Plants typically grow to a medium height of 90-130cm and display a symmetric, bushy structure with dark green foliage and somewhat elongated leaves that hint at their Sativa heritage. During late flowering, some leaves may develop violet or purple coloration, adding to the strain's visual appeal.

Growing Information
Auto Gagarin is considered moderately easy to grow and suitable for novice growers. Flowering time is 65-70 days from seed, with plants entering flowering automatically after about 20 days of vegetation. Indoor yields range from 400-500 g/m², while outdoor yields can reach 500-600 g/m² or 100-250g per plant. Plants prefer warm conditions and respond well to low-stress training techniques like LST and ScroG, but should not be topped or subjected to high-stress training methods. Avoid over-fertilization, especially with chemical nutrients. Good air circulation is essential during flowering to prevent mold issues. For optimal THC development, plants require intense lighting (approximately 100W per plant for HPS). The strain is resistant to fungi and pests due to its resin production and Sativa genetics.
