The original Durban Poison is a South African landrace sativa discovered in the 1970s by cannabis cultivator Ed Rosenthal during a trip to South Africa. Ed was drawn to its relatively fast flowering time and later shared seeds with other growers, leading to its worldwide distribution through Dutch seed banks and coffeeshops. This autoflowering version maintains the energetic, uplifting characteristics of its parent while offering the convenience of automatic flowering regardless of light cycle.
Auto Durban Poison is a sativa-dominant hybrid with approximately 80% Sativa and 20% Indica genetics, containing no pure Indica lineage but rather Sativa and Ruderalis genetics.
