Atomic NL
Also known as: Atomic Northern Lights
Atomic NL Strain Overview
Atomic NL is an indica-dominant hybrid cannabis strain composed of 65% indica and 35% sativa genetics, originally developed by Dr. Atomic Seeds and represents a mostly indica strain with approximately 14-20% Sativa component that provides the lingering and prolonged high. The strain has a rich history of world travel that traces back to the 1980s when Afghani indica seeds were brought to the U.S. and bred with Thai Haze, resulting in Northern Lights, which became a three-time Cannabis Cup winner during its stay in Holland where it was developed and stabilized by Sensi. Northern Lights then traveled to Canada where Dr. Atomic Seeds recrossed it with its own distant relatives, creating an indica-dominant strain with fast flowering times (approximately 8 weeks), short stocky plants, and a mind/body sensation with an uplifting effect. Dr. Atomic Seeds is considered one of the closest versions of the original Northern Lights developed in the 80s. The strain is known as a pungent strain with a sweet flavor, offering sour notes of lime and a punchy tobacco undertone with a touch of honey. Atomic NL can be cultivated indoors where the plants will need a flowering time of approximately 56 days and was never available as feminized seeds from Dr. Atomic Seeds.

Atomic NL Strain Growing Information
The Atomic Northern Lights strain grows best in a warm environment as a short, stocky plant with an indoor yield of around 0.5-1 ounce per square foot (300 grams per square meter) and outdoor yield of approximately 10-15 ounces per plant (400 grams per plant). The strain tends to have relatively uniform growing characteristics and is an excellent choice for novice growers, capable of growing tall to around 30-60 inches (75-150 cm). This strain has a somewhat longer flowering period, tending to flower in eight to nine weeks indoors, with harvest expected in mid-October when growing outdoors. Atomic Northern Lights can be grown indoors or outdoors by experienced cannabis cultivators, however it is recommended to grow plants outdoors as the strain performs best in an outdoor grow setup. This strain is sturdy and has good resistance to mold and mildew as well as pests, and can be grown by inexperienced growers as long as they pay attention to every step. The ideal temperature for these plants is 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, with humidity levels set at 40-60% during the vegetative growth stage.
