Amnesia Haze
Amnesia Haze
Also known as: Amnesia, Haze Amnesia, Core Amnesia, Dutch Amnesia
Overview
Amnesia Haze is a legendary sativa-dominant cannabis strain renowned worldwide for its electrifying high and unforgettable flavor. This award-winning variety (a High Times Cannabis Cup champion in 2004 and 2012) has earned a reputation for delivering an uplifting, energizing buzz that hits hard and lasts long. With THC levels often around 20–22%, it's no wonder Amnesia Haze stands out. The true origins of Amnesia Haze are shrouded in some confusion and debate. One theory is that the original Amnesia came from USA breeding work by David 'Sam the Skunkman' Watson in the 1990's using varied genetics from Thai, Hawaiian, Jamaican and Afghani strains. This was then thought to have been crossed in The Netherlands with Neville's Haze. The resulting 'Amnesia Haze' was available as a Dutch clone-only strain for several years until it made its transition to a seed variety.
The Amnesia Haze strain is a very complicated genetic cross. You have the magnificent Southeast Asian genetics (Thai sticks, Cambodian, Laotian) of which were my all time favorites, combined with fine Jamaican Haze varieties with their high THC percentage and sharp flavor and indica-dominant South Asian and Afghan Hawaiian strains. The strain exhibits dense flower clusters that are hard to the touch when cured lovingly. So well-crystallised are the firm nuggets, that they seem to have been lightly glazed with some kind of exotic cardamom and lime, marjoram and mandarin flavoured toffee that sparkles and refracts the light. The overdrive trichome production makes Amnesia Haze prized for hashes and other extractions.

Growing Information
In terms of difficulty, we'd rate Amnesia Haze as suitable for intermediate to experienced growers. It's not the hardest strain to grow (it's reasonably resilient to pests and can handle nutrients well), but the long flowering period and big size mean beginners might find it challenging to keep the plant healthy and contained for so many weeks. Flowering Time: Approximately 12–13 weeks indoors (longer than many strains, due to the Haze genetics). Indoors the Amnesia Haze strain expresses the dominant sativa genetics and tends to stretch substantially, even when put on a 12-12 lighting regime, straight out of the cloning cupboard. Amnesia Haze does like to be fed well but, like a lot of sativas, can be tipped over into the toxic zone very easily. The long buds with their thin leaves can take twelve weeks to mature. Expect a reasonable 600g/m² under 600W lights from plants that are slow to mature, but satisfyingly dense and wonderfully crystallised when ready. Experienced growers report up to 25 ounces per plant when cultivating outdoors. Inside, average yields range from 18-21 ounces per square meter.
