The original AK-47 was created by combining genetics from Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani landrace strains. The autoflowering version was developed by crossing the original AK-47 with Cannabis ruderalis genetics, which allows the plant to flower automatically without relying on light cycle changes. The original AK-47 is one of the most awarded cannabis strains in history, having won more than 27 awards including multiple Cannabis Cup victories.
This sativa-dominant hybrid typically maintains a 65% sativa and 35% indica genetic composition.
