Afghani #1 IBL is an indica strain from Rare Dankness Seeds that can be cultivated indoors. The Afghan IBL genetics are derived from 30 seeds that a former patient brought to the breeder, who had served in Afghanistan for 3 tours and suffered PTSD and back injuries. Though not as tasty as some Afghan genetics, these seeds carried a ridiculous amount of resin and unique smells and flavors that really fattened up the yields. This strain represents a stabilized inbred line (IBL) of traditional Afghan landrace genetics, carefully preserved to maintain the original characteristics of cannabis from the Hindu Kush mountains. Afghanistan's incredible diversity in climate and ethnicity, with 7 main ethnic groups, accounts for many Afghan landraces. Over millennia, cannabis has adapted to very specific growing conditions and different farming practices of various ethnicities. As an original landrace strain native to the mountains of Afghanistan, Afghani genetics are prized for potency and sturdy genetics, perfected over centuries by natural selection and human cultivation. This vintage variety was likely brought to the west before Afghanistan banned cannabis production in 1973.
